HULA KEIKI NYC "Keiki" means "kid" or "child" in Hawaiian. Using a mix of live and recorded music, two incredible teachers from Hawai`i will teach Hawaiian dance and songs here on the island of Manhattan. The 2008 Liberty World Outrigger Competition, hosted by New York Outrigger, will be held on Saturday, June 28. One of the largest sporting events in New York Harbor and one of the premier outrigger canoe races in the world, the day long competition hosts hundreds of international paddlers and represents the best of the Aloha spirit. Prior Liberty Competitions have brought together men’s, women’s and mixed teams from Tahiti, Sweden, Germany, Canada, Hawaii, Costa Rica, England and the East and West coast of the United States. | ||
