Anthony Aiu
Artist Biography
From O’ahu Hawaii, Anthony Aiu (MFA, Conservatory of Dance, SUNY Purchase) is an artist, dancer, and choreographer that creates from his vibrant and rich Polynesian ancestry. He founded `Avei`a in 2009 to showcase his culturally rooted movement style. In 2015 he co-founded Te Ao Mana and is dedicated to cultural expansion and giving voice to Polynesian artists. In 2015 Anthony started the Global Harmony Project for community building through the creative process. He presented at Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration, Dance Parade, Hawaiian Airlines Liberty Challenge, Hōkūle’a Mālama Honua Worldwide Voyage, Battery Dance, Judson Church, and 92Y, among others.
