Yuri Kochiyama was a lifelong political activist who supported a wide range of social justice and human rights movements more than fifty years, including the civil rights and antiwar movements and the fight for fight for ethnic studies, the anti-apartheid movement, the struggle for Puerto Rican independence, reparations for Japanese Americans, African Americans and Native Americans, the rights of political prisoners in the United States, nuclear disarmament, and movements for racial and economic justice and sovereignty all over the world.

A discussion on the importance, methodology, and challenges of Hawaiian Musical Learning in New York City Timothy Keali'i Ho is the former Director of Choirs and Performing Arts Department Chair at the Kamehameha Schools - Kapālama, and he is currently the Director of Choirs and Music Department Chair at the Horace Mann School in New York City. Mentored by Randie Kamuela Fong while attending Kamehameha Schools and earning a Masters of Music in Enthnomusicology from the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa, Tim's choral music curriculum at the Horace Mann School largely centers around Hawaiian musical traditions and concepts.
