STANDING ABOVE THE CLOUDS follows Native Hawaiian mother-daughter activists as they stand to protect their sacred mountain Mauna Kea from the building of the world's largest telescope.

This impactful short film was included in the 2020 PBS Short Film Festival. Joining us after the screening for an important and inspiring discussion were filmmakers Jalena Keane-Lee and Amber Espinosa Jones, along with Native Hawaiian activists Pua Case, Puanani Apoliona-Brown, and Lehuanani DeFranco.

You can watch a recording of our discussion and learn more about Mauna Kea and how you can join the fight to protect our sacred mountain.
